How it's done with Miss Spencer

*Feel free to adjust*

Each day the students start on "Good Standing". There are 6 steps and you can move up or down throughout the entire day. I DO give warnings AND then I move. I say "Move your clip down"-I do not argue with my students. If they do, they move it twice. I also make a really big deal of moving clips up to encourage positive behavior. I remind them each time of why, they generally can explain, if not we stop and discuss. I have a point system that is attached to "FUN FRIDAY". Someone is appointed for the week to collect the points of each student and every Friday with permission from parents students have 30 minutes of their own time! They LOVE computer time, phone time, iPad time, reading, chatting, making bracelets or even extra recess, they also bring in extra snacks. In order to be in Fun Friday, they must have at least 100 points for the week. If the points are marked wrong because the person whose job it is messed up, it's cancelled. Of course it is explicitly taught and there are generally 2 students responsible. If I notice everyone gets "Fun Friday" every Friday, then I may up the point required. The students who are not participating are required to write a letter home describing their behavior and what intend to do to correct and get it signed over the weekend. If it is not signed, the students move their clips down on Monday and "Fun Friday" is pending until the letter is returned to me with a signature.

  1. Super Amazing! 30 points
  2. Amazing! 25 points
  3. Good Standing 20 points
  4. Warning 15 points
  5. Think Time (time out)/Teacher's Choice 10 points

For clips, I use laundry clips with their names on them! Easy Peasy!
